Develop your own sense of style by wearing eco-friendly clothing and accessorizing. You can shop at vintage or thrift stores in person or online and purchase shirts, jackets, dresses, pants, scarves, shoes, and tons of accessories. You can also shop second-hand at garage sales in your community. You would be surprised what you’ll find to wear. You know what they say, one person’s trash is another person’s treasure. Try following social media influencers who are into environmentally friendly fashion to get inspired and come up with ideas of your own. Remember it’s more about quality than quantity.
Clothing Brands
Research the clothing brands you’re buying your clothes from. Find out what their mission is, what they stand for and if they’re using animals for their products. You would want to try and purchase clothes from brands who use organic and recyclable materials that are non-toxic and don’t cause harm to the environment. This goes for your pets too if you have any. Some of us like to dress our cats and dogs in shirts or other clothes. You should be mindful of where your pets’ clothes are coming from as well.
Make Your Clothing Last
Be sure to take great care of your clothes and shoes. Be cautious on how you wash your clothing, depending on the clothes you may have to hand wash or air dry. There’s also eco-friendly laundry detergent you can use that can help the planet. If you find holes or rips in your clothes, try sewing it back up or donating your clothes to thrift stores or charitable organizations.
